Step-by-step instructions for shipping a student's car
1) Choose a service and get a price.
For open vs. enclosed rates, use our calculator. Do you require the earliest window for pickup? To confirm live capacity on your lane, call us for a personalized expedited plan (expedited is phone-only).
2) We arrange both people and locations.
If a full-size truck is unable to enter campus streets, your dedicated advisor verifies safe meet locations, residence-hall time windows, campus access regulations, and pickup and delivery contacts (student + parent/guardian). We arrange for a nearby, truck-friendly lot for loading and unloading in the event that a rig is unable to reach your dorm area. This is typical for campus areas and door-to-door transportation.
3) Documentation-accompanied pickup
At handoff, the driver takes pictures of the car, texts or calls ahead, and notes its condition on the Bill of Lading (BOL). For peace of mind, keep your own pictures as well; they go well with the BOL.
4) Updates and in transit
Depending on routing and stops, the majority of long-haul carriers travel between 500 and 700 miles every day. We schedule around exams, RA check-in times, and campus regulations and exchange ETAs.

How long student car transport take?

These ranges include loading/unloading time and the average carrier progress of 500-700 miles per day. ETAs can change due to weather, traffic, and multi-stop routing; your advisor will keep you informed.
Access to the campus and our meeting location
Big car haulers have to abide by city and campus regulations. We'll arrange a close-by, truck-friendly meeting spot (wide street, campus perimeter, or public lot) to ensure loading is both safe and permitted, as many universities prohibit large vehicles on interior roads. We adhere to and make plans in accordance with any posted dimension or route restrictions on campuses.
Tips for student-friendly auto shipping (to prevent last-minute stress)
Get your vehicle ready for campus.
1. During the pickup window, be available by phone or text.
2. Before being picked up, the car should be cleaned and photographed from the inside out.
3. Take out personal belongings (students may bring additional bags upon request); leave about a half-tank of fuel.
4. Give your advisor information about the campus, such as gates, RA hours, and one-way streets.
5. If access to the dorms is limited, recommend a meeting location (campus edge, visitor lot, or arena parking).
