Yes. While your car is in the carrier's custody, it is insured for the duration of the transport. From pickup to delivery, your car is covered by the carrier's cargo insurance. The driver inspects the car before transport and records the condition on the Bill of Lading. In the event that a claim is required, this document safeguards both you and the carrier.

Are personal items in the car insured?

No, the carrier's insurance does not cover personal property kept inside the car. During transit, items within the vehicle may move or sustain damage. We advise removing all personal belongings prior to pickup for security and insurance purposes.

Accepted Answer

The carrier's cargo insurance covers your car. Damage that happens during loading, moving, or unloading is covered by this insurance. In order to cover third-party property damage or injury in the event of an accident, carriers must also carry liability insurance.
